Cerec

What is CEREC technology?

CEREC is a technology used in dentistry to manufacture ceramic restorations such as crowns, bridges and veneers. More specifically, the Primescan is an intraoral scanner, a major innovation in this field.

Primescan

Primescan

The Primescan is a device that takes precise digital images of the patient’s teeth and mouth. Instead of making traditional casts with paste, this scanner captures details of the mouth in a matter of minutes, making the process more comfortable for the patient.

Computer-aided design (CAD)

Once the images have been taken, they are sent to a software program to design the dental restoration. The dentist can visualize and customize the prosthesis on a screen, ensuring that it fits perfectly with the patient’s dentition.x

Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)

After design, the restoration is manufactured in the dental practice itself using a milling unit. This means the dentist can create a crown on the spot, often in less than three hours.

Benefits

The advantages of CEREC and Primescan include a faster process, greater patient comfort (no unpleasant impressions), and precise, aesthetic results. What’s more, treatments can often be carried out in a single visit, which is convenient for many patients.

In short, CEREC and Primescan are revolutionizing the way dental care is delivered, making treatment faster and more comfortable while delivering high-quality results.
